Tea or Coffee

Hi y’all! Good morning! Maybe. It could be night for you when you reach this post. It’s morning when I’m writing this. Let’s pretend like it’s morning for you too.

I think the hardest part of starting something new is establishing yourself in the very beginning. It is stressful for me, in part, because to really introduce myself, I have to veer from the idea in my head of what this blog is going to be about.

In my head, there also is a little voice that also says “No one is going to read this, you are going to look desperate for trying to sell yourself and your blog to people who don’t care about you.”

That little voice makes me hesitant. I don’t want to be annoying or overshare...

But I know that is not the way the people who truly care about me and who know me, think about me. To be quite honest with you, this discouragement is the reason I am still typing away at this blog.

So what is my goal for this blog? Well it's to share. Share about my life, my thoughts, the things I know and the things I don't. Writing is therapeutic for me. But I don't really want to focus on the surface level stuff about me or anything. I want to provoke thoughts and feelings.

So let me share a little about me so I never have to again. I looked up some get to know you questions and I'll be answering some of those.

Where do you live (but not your physical address, describe your home.)

-I live part-time in the BlackBelt where the ancestors of the oaks grow. My home here is at the end of identical houses but underneath a tree and unique on the inside. I'm a walk away from the village. War Eagle.

The other part of my time, I live in the Appalachian Mountains, curtained between two dialects, cultures, and hills. The Boys of Alabama are Walmart regulars. The town tastes like barbeque place jojos, smells like honeysuckle and funnel cake, sounds like music and the echo of booms from the past. My home is in the valley and has more animal residents than human residents at times. A nursery for pure life and produce. An echo, again, of ideas and methods from the past.

What do you do?

I go to school at Auburn University. I work as a Social Media Coordinator. I manage platform presences, create ads, and brainstorm. I do a lot of brainstorming. I am also a farm hand sometimes, a teacher to myself all the time and to children in the future, and a sister and girlfriend most everyday. I listen to podcasts and workout. I like to sleep, shop, and go out to eat. But I also cook for myself a lot so my culinary training won't go to waste. I like to talk to Jesus and I like to love the people He brings into my life. I hate to use a Disney reference (no I don't), but if I were to sum up what I do, I guess I would say I try to do the next right thing.

Somewhere colder, and not as humid. Breckinridge, Colorado. Asheville, NC. Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Jackson, Wyoming.

What are your pet peeves?

Liars. Bad drivers. Feeling ignored.

I also don't like when people who think they are better than other people.

Who is your hero?

My sister and brother. My mother and my father. They are my heroes.

What is your favorite memory?

Being back at home. Being with my friends. Youth group. You never know when all of those things are going to end.

What is your favorite food?

Bao. Or pasta. Anything with lots of veggies and a little cheese sometimes.

What are your goals for this blog?

Create a space where I can say what I want, write how I want, learn about and share about what I want. Make this a place my friends can do the same thing.

What color do you like playing as in Among Us?

Dark green or Brown. Sometimes pink.

But most of the time I play as orange with the pumpkin hat.

What are you dressing up as for Halloween?

Harry Potter.

Lightsaber color?

Green or gold. duh.

What is your favorite movie?

The lego batman movie.

What is your biggest weakness?

Shin splints.

If you were any animal which one two very different animals could you be?

A horse or a bear.

Which animal would you not be?

Any type of fish. Nor a dolphin.

Tea or Coffee?

I drink a lot of coffee right now but I love tea. I would choose tea over coffee. But I'll have whatever is already made.
