No Nuance (November or not): Exposing My Imperfect Image

This is the "TikTok Trend That Isn't a Dance" Alert!!!! No Nuance November.

Whether you are a fan of TikTok, or not, we all have our hot takes. (Hot takes, for all of you out of the loop, are opinions that aren't as popular or socially accepted.)

Now for all of you Facebookers, (I'm looking at you mom. just kidding) you can't claim to not take a part of this TikTok Trend because you don't like TikTok. I understand you may not like the content or the platform (for fair reasons), but you participate in your own unhinged version of No Nuance November all year long that I like to call Yearly Yakking. Its kind of like this trend except 1. It's Year Round, 2. It is super, super unsolicited, 3. You totally argue about the opinions of other people.

You don't get to argue that you do this. You know you do it. No judgement but you do.

But I want to participate in No Nuance November, but not on TikTok and it's not December anymore. That's what I have blog for. I do what I want.

Should I put a warning here?

WARNING! From this point on you will be entering the NO NUANCE ZONE. There is no protection from the heat for you here, snowflakes. This blog post contains opinions so bold, yet so unarguably sound that they might be added to the next Encyclopedia. There is no filter for facts. VIEWER DESCRETION ADVISED!

Here are the rules to this game. These are my opinions, with no context. I will not explain. I will not argue with you. I am open to hear your opinions. Here we go:

  1. Coffee is not a personality trait. Food can't be a personality trait. Me: *takes a sip of iced coffee*

  2. Chick-fil-a is just a middle quality fast food place. The thing that makes it great is it's service. Also the iced coffee sucks. Me: *takes another sip of Chick-fil-a iced coffee*

  3. New country is making a transition just like every other form of country. Music is supposed to change and evolve.

  4. Additionally, some new country is good.

  5. Unless you help pay for, or dress someone, you don't get to decide what they wear. You really shouldn't comment on it either. It is not nice. (The same goes for make-up and hair styles.)

  6. The truly upsetting part of this election was that no matter which candidate won, because of the tensions between parties, America could not come out of it as a winner too.

  7. Front tucking shirts are cute when you know how to do it. (@ mom)

  8. Chunky tennis shoes, on the other hand, are not. They will embarrass you one day in the future.

  9. TikTok was made for dance videos and lip-syncing but was destined for much more. TikTok dances are annoying.

  10. Being in a sorority is sort of a social shortcut. (This isn't a judgment filled statement but it is true.)

  11. Gatekeeping is a joke that isn't funny anymore. I don't care about the background or experience level or whatever it is that makes some disqualified to like or be interested in something. If it is open to be taught and shared, then all should be allowed to learn and take interest.

  12. Getting married early in life terrifies me. I have thought I have been sure about so many things and people and been so wrong about them in the last YEAR. How would someone be able to make a lifelong commitment this early? I can't.

  13. Social media is so damaging to everything. I do social media work (not like any of that may come to mind) and I would know.

  14. It may not be called this in the Bible but God has His own brand of Karma and I've seen it. Just let the negative actions roll off you like water on a ducks back and watch.

  15. Its really hard to find friends who are willing to do a photoshoot for you and then let you take pictures for them.

  16. The best pretzels on this planet are from Sonic. I don't care for the cheese they come with but those pretzels are to die for.

  17. Mayo is gross.

  18. I believe scripture, the original texts, are fully God-Breathed. Our translations and interpretations are very flawed. I would take time to research the discrepancies between the original texts and your preferred version.

  19. Online college should not be full price or more than in-person college.

  20. Sweet potato casserole shouldn't have marshmallows but you can put marshmallows on your baked sweet potato.

  21. There are lots of holidays we need to revision because they are very inappropriate for us to celebrate with the knowledge we have today.

  22. Running can be fun. Any type of workout can be fun. But not burpees.

  23. I can't trust you if you do a 10+ step skin care routine every night, but I can admire your consistency.

  24. Christmas is a great holiday. But Christians do need to be considerate to those who do not feel inclined or cannot celebrate (for whatever reason).

  25. Our government is corrupt and will be no matter which party is holding presidency or has majority.

  26. A teenager is not old enough to make some very important decisions, that is why alcohol and tobacco consumption age in America is 21. Therefore they should not be eligible for draft 3 years before that age and certainly shouldn't be allowed to make identity altering decisions before they are of mind to do so.

  27. Shaming people for liking anything you don't like is stupid and so easy to turn around. Be thoughtful.

  28. The best kind of pencils are the Bic mechanical pencils 0.7 mm.

  29. Not liking a few certain foods is okay and normal. If you are picky and will only eat a few foods, you would not have made it in different, survival of the fittest, circumstances.

  30. There should be forgiveness for social media grammar mistakes. It is casual language. As long as you can understand what they are saying, their or there should be fair game.

  31. Additionally, intelligence, beauty, and worthiness should not be determined from social media presence. This encourages so many damaging social behaviors and pushes us further into selectively choosing the best parts of ourselves to express to the public. We will lose all our genuine character and experiences that allow us to be truly lovely and vulnerable. We are all so unique and awesome. Let's preserve our willingness to be imperfect through every public presence as long as we can. So here is my blog...

Really, I want to challenge you all to imagine a world where you and your friends are comfortable being yourselves. How great would that be? So here is my challenge, every day this month, do something imperfect and document it. Be yourself, without all the filters and spellcheck and unnecessary effort to look or seem a different way. Keep improving, giving up is not at all what I mean. I mean look at yourself, in the body and area you are in now, and be thankful and satisfied. God brought you here and has you here exactly like this for a purpose. How awesome. Now get to work. Show us those gym pictures, your work outfits, your study session, your attempt at a healthy meal, or your poorly edited blog. Whatever it is that isn't perfect, is perfect for this challenge. #imperfectimagechallenge
